  • We have a zoom meeting before edits ever begin. You share your screen with me so I can see exactly what you like in Lightroom.
  • I keep notes of everything you tell me. Like your shadows lifted in all of your images and oranges reduced? That will be in your notes. Want some retouching on those seniors? You guessed your notes.
  • I've taught others how to edit, I was a photographer for 13 years and editing is my passion. 
  • I do my homework on everything that I can related to your business. I look at your website, social media pages, and anything I can find online. I want to know all that I can about who I'm assisting.
  • We have a zoom meeting before we start working together (and a few after!). This is a chance to go over what you need from me and how I can help you the most.
  • I keep a Trello board for everything that I do for you and send you an invite to that board. This keeps us organized and up to date.
  • Being your VA isn't about how hard I will work for you. It's about elevating your business to that next level while you enjoy your life again. But just so you know, I do work hard for you.

I've lived through busy seasons, as both a wedding and a portrait photographer, feeling like I was drowning in editing. If you're here checking me out, then you probably know exactly what I'm talking about. But I have such good news for you! It doesn't have to be this way! Outsourcing your editing offers you a chance to take back time, freedom and your sanity! Imagine sending a client their wedding 2 weeks after the wedding. I'm Amy Leigh, a wedding and portrait photographer turned private photo editor and virtual assistant for busy photographers. 

I'm a mama to 4 humans and 2 dogs. Lover of pens, notebooks (I'm old school!), Dr. Pepper and year round flip flop wearer. Over the years, I've always said that time is the most valuable asset I have. I say that because there are a lot of things I can't control, but I can control  what my time is spent on and who it's spent with. My favorite way to spend my time? Doing anything with my children (even though they're all adults now!).

I have 13 years of editing experience that allow me to quickly learn your editing style and provide you with high quality, consistent edits. I've worked for a preset company (teaching others how to edit and use presets), as a full time editor for an award winning, nationwide wedding photography company and I've had my own photography business for just over 13 years. Oh, did I mention that I used to shoot weddings too? 

I know both sides of this business and how to help you feel like you can breathe. My goal is for you to take back your life and enjoy what you spend your energy doing, whether that's focusing on other aspects of your business, having more time with family or just having extra time for a hobby. The great thing is that you get to choose how you will spend all of this extra time you're about to have!

The  Process...

The first thing I like to do is have a consult with you to make sure we're a good fit. We'll go over what your needs are, how we can accomplish your goals once you hire me as your editor and I'll be able to answer any questions you have.  This is also a great time to go over the process of transferring files.  It might sound daunting, but I make the whole process super easy!

I offer an appointment based calendar system that allows you to schedule your edits in advance.  Once I receive your catalog, the turn around time is 3-5 business days for weddings and 2-3 days for engagements and portrait sessions.  You can schedule your edits as far as 365 days in advance! 

I know outsourcing can be a hard decision, so I want every step of this process to be simple for you! You'll have access to my Client Portal, where you will find your Pricing and Services Guide, my calendar for scheduling your edits, the upload link for your LR catalogs. You'll also find a PDF that will answer questions and guide you along the way!

When your edit is complete, you'll receive an email to download your edited catalog. Then you'll probably do a happy dance and wonder why you waited so long to do this! You'll load your edited catalog back into LR, then export the jpegs like you normally would and deliver to your client weeks before you used to. And that's it! So simple!
