learn about the process

While I mainly shoot seniors and families, I also love to do maternity and couple's sessions, as well as children. I do a mix of posed shots and candids, especially if children are involved. Sessions with me tend to include some laughter, real moments and connection. But mostly, we have fun together. I  don't rush things. I let those moments happen organically because that's when the real you comes out.

Time spent with me isn't just about taking your photos.  It's about getting to know you, connecting with you beyond your session.

why choose me?

the details

Clients typically reach out to me via the contact page here on the website, email, text or facebook. And I respond to all four.  I'm pretty bad about phone calls, I admit it.  So if you want to get ahold of me, that would be the worst way (full transparency here!).

When reaching out, it's best to let me know what type of session you're interested in scheduling and if you have a date in mind.

initial meeting

Once we've talked about scheduling your session and know that we're a good fit for each other, we'll decide on the date and location. In order to secure your date, I'll send you a contract that will need to be signed. This will need to be returned to me, along with a retainer fee.  The balance of your session fee will be due the day of your session. If you are a new client, I'll also send you a questionnaire that will help me get to know you better.

ready to book

Typically, the hardest part to prepare for is deciding on what to wear!  Don't worry, I've got your back!  While my own style may be jeans and a black t-shirt, styling clients comes easily!  I have a style guide put together for families and seniors to take the guess work out of what to wear!

And if you're still unsure, I'm just a text away. Send me some pictures of what you're thinking of and I'll give you a thumbs up or a thumbs down!

You'll also receive a guide that will help you every step of the way to ensure we have an amazing session together!

prepping for your shoot

Your session day has finally arrived and you might be nervous, especially if you have younger children.  Don't be!  We'll talk, get to know each other, play games and pretty much just hang out for an hour! I've raised four children that have turned into amazing adults, so I know how to talk to your children! And if you're a senior, I've seen my four children through their senior year and I get it! I usually don't play games with seniors (that might be a little awkward!!), but I definitely know how to get you to relax, be yourself and connect with my camera and I!

your session day

I generally take 2 weeks for edits to be done. During this time, I may post a sneak peek on facebook or instagram.  At some point during this 2 week period, we'll schedule your in person ordering session.  We do this either at my home or via ZOOM, whichever way you are most comfortable with.

This is where you view your photos, decide what to order, then place and pay for your order.  In about 2 weeks, your order comes in and is ready for pick up.

the process

+ Digital files are a great way to hang onto the memories you created, and who doesn't want that? But too often, they live on a computer, rather than walls.
+ Only invest in a digital file only option if you know you will print the images, hang them and appreciate them.
+ Make sure you read the ALP guide on where to print and other useful information for enjoying your digital files for many years.

should you get digital files?

+ Communication with me throughout the entire process to plan the photo session that you want
+ A style guide in case getting everyone dressed is a challenge (trust me, it is for 99% of my clients!)
+ The session, which generally lasts 60 minutes (senior sessions are longer).
+ Editing and retouching of each photo
+ Help with ordering to ensure you get exactly what you want.

this includes:

ALL SESSIONS: $175

session fee

+ I offer 3 collections, each one has prints and digital files. I do this so that you can have a mix of both, without sacrificing one for the other.
+ You also have the choice of ordering items a la carte, without purchasing a collection, but I'll be honest, that's rare! You can also use this option to add something onto your collection that isn't included.
