Family Portraits | Lodi, Ca. Family Photographer

Families

When Lisa asked if I could do her family portraits before the holidays hit, I had to say yes.

I first met Lisa and Bryce when I photographed their wedding, still probably my favorite wedding because of all the details that Lisa put into her special day. I already knew Bryce from the swim team world in my city and knew that he was great with kids and was an amazing coach. I’ve come to know both Bryce and Lisa as a couple, as expecting parents and as the parents of 3 children. I’ve spent time with them doing family portraits, maternity sessions (which you can check out HERE) and holiday mini sessions. I’m really hoping this is the year for a beach session!

OUR MOST RECENT FAMILY PORTRAIT SESSION

Our time spent during these family portraits was special. Their third and final son, Fitz (which I jokingly say they named after me because Fitz is my maiden last name!) finally joined their family. I’ve come to love taking extra photos of parents with their babies during their session because I know that someday they’re going to wish they had more of these types of images. Our children grow so quickly and I feel like this is my small way of preserving just a little bit of this time.

One thing I especially love about seeing families over and over each year is that I get to know them. I get to learn how their children respond to me and what they do or don’t love. Beckett loves it when I go in for a tickle, so I use that every chance I get to make him laugh! And Harper is so good at following directions, I know I can ask her to do anything and she’ll do it.

I know getting children ready for a family session can be hard and so much work, but trust me when I say that it’s so worth it! You will never look back on this time with them and say “Darn, I really wish we hadn’t done this. It was such a waste of time and money.”. Nobody ever says that. Ever.
